Ekiti State Police Command has recovered a total number of 558 cattles from 16 suspected cattle rustlers

  In coordinated operations in Ikole and Isan Ekiti Local Government Areas, authorities arrested at least 16 suspects (primarily herdsmen believed to have migrated from Kwara State). From the main group of 16 suspects, police recovered 303 cows and 61 sheep, along with ₦311,000 in cash, seven Tecno mobile phones, various charms, hard drugs, and three Kwara State Vigilante Corps identity cards.

Massive Fire Razes Mouka Foam Depot Near Asa Dam in Ilorin.

A major fire outbreak occurred at the Mouka Foam distribution depot along Asa Dam Road in Ilorin, Kwara State, on January 14, 2026, causing extensive damage to the facility, which includes a storey building and rear extension.  The Kwara State Fire Service responded swiftly, containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to nearby structures, such as a petrol station and hospital, with no reported casualties.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation, amid concerns over safety during the dry season.
